Skip Bayless debuted the renewed version of his sports talk show Undisputed back in August with some new guests after his long-time co-host Shannon Sharpe exited from the show. The new guests included Richard Sherman, Michael Irvin, and Keyshawn Johnson to replace Sharpe in the panel. It has been approximately 3 months since the debut of the renewed version of the show and things already got messy between Bayless and Sherman.
During a recent episode of the Fox Sports show Undisputed, Bayless, Sherman, and Johnson were discussing the potential ban of the controversial hip-drop tackles in the NFL.
Bayless was talking about how several players were affected by that specific move in the last few weeks and Sherman started to interrupt him. Bayless didn’t like Sherman’s interruption and asked him to not do it again, and things started to get messy between the two.
I'll let you speak, but you're not speaking from experience. So, stop raising your voice Skip.
Sherman said on the show Undisputed.
After that comment, Bayless sighed in disbelief and asked Sherman again whether he would let him speak or not. Bayless said he has been covering the game for a long time, but Sherman didn’t think that was enough to talk about it.
Well, you're speaking on something you have no experience doing. So, I mean, what point can your really make? You've covered the game, I've actually played the game longer than you ever played. So, when we are talking about something that's actually happens in the game that you can't experience unless you play it.
The brief video of this heated exchange went viral on social media and accumulated over 653k views within hours. Many fans predict the duo of Richard Sherman and Skip Bayless might break soon as a result of this.
Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe had a similar incident
Earlier this year, Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe had a similar heated exchange on Undisputed while discussing Bayless’ sensitive tweet after the Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field.
Back when Hamlin collapsed on the field due to a cardiac arrest, Bayless tweeted seemingly questioning the league about how they can consider suspending a crucial game at that stage of the season. That tweet angered many, including NFL players.
Later, Sharpe talked about his co-host’s insensitive tweet about Hamlin, but Bayless would not let him finish his monologue. Sharpe looked visibly pi*sed at Bayless and even lashed out at him for not letting him speak.
Even then, fans predicted the duo of Sharpe and Bayless would soon come to an end despite their long and successful run. As predicted, Sharpe and Bayless’ duo broke 6 months after that heated exchange. Sharpe later joined with Bayless’ nemesis Stephen A. Smith on ESPN.
