Gunther Steiner is the Haas F1 Team Principal. The 58-year-old has become a popular figure in the F1 paddock in the past few years due to his appearances in Netflix’s ‘Drive to Survive.’ The Italian-American is a fan favorite because of his blatant approach. Now, it seems that a comedy show is about to be made based on the Haas team boss.
Hollywood news website Deadline has reported that American TV network CBS is currently developing a comedy show with Gunther Steiner. Presently, the project is in the early stages. It is expected to be a single-camera workplace comedy. The show will be based on a sporting team with a “Steiner-esque” boss leading the outfit.
No studio has been attached to the project as of now. Gunther Steiner is expected to be a non-writing Executive Producer of the show. So far no writers have been signed for this project. Certainly, such a show would attract fans of ‘Drive to Survive’ who would love to see Steiner’s persona in a fictional program.
Gunther Steiner and Haas have work to do over the F1 winter break
The Haas F1 team started the 2023 F1 season amidst backlash from fans for replacing Mick Schumacher with Nico Hulkenberg. However, Hulkenberg proved critics wrong as the German driver delivered solid performances for Steiner’s team, especially in Qualifying. Although, the American team has failed to capitalize on such results.
Gunther Steiner’s team is currently at the bottom of the standings with 12 points. Haas has fallen behind rivals such as AlphaTauri and Alfa Romeo in the latter half of the season. As the American team struggled in terms of race pace with both Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen failing to make progress on Sunday.
The Haas F1 team has to work on its issues during the winter break. Gunther Steiner and his squad must understand the underlying factors that have affected the car’s long-run pace. However, Steiner would be hoping that the team could end the season on a high note with a strong finish at the final round of the year in Abu Dhabi.
