The Philadelphia Eagles‘ 10-1 record and their recent overtime win over the Buffalo Bills has catapulted their QB Jalen Hurts into the MVP conversation. He had a brilliant performance against the Bills on Sunday. After a slow start to the game, the fourth-year signal-caller picked up his game and delivered in the clutch as the Eagles pulled off a 37-34 win over the Bills.
Hurts finished the game with 200 passing yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception. He also had a couple of rushing touchdowns as he led the Eagles to a comeback win. Hurts is now firmly in the MVP conversation, but there are still doubters about the quarterback, even after a dominant performance. One of those critics is Fox Sports analyst, Emmanuel Acho. He claimed that Hurts “doesn’t look that good” as an MVP of the league.
Acho said on the latest episode of Fox Sports show, Speak:
Jalen Hurts still doesn’t LOOK the part. Which is the wildest of things. I watch as an Analyst, but also a former player, and I’m like ‘He doesn’t look that good.’ He just doesn’t. You look at Josh Allen and you’re like “Oh My God!” Then you look at Hurts, and you’re like *shrugs*. But he ends up with 5 TD’s, Eagles win, 10-1. How much does it bother you?
There are very few MVP candidates for the season. Hurts is clearly one of them. He has led his team to a league-best record and is playing tremendous football. The Eagles are flying high and they will hope to continue their form in the second half of the season.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ recent win over the Buffalo Bills resulted in their QB Jalen Hurts getting MVP votes. He was phenomenal against the Bills as he has led his team to a league-best record of 10-1. However, Fox Sports analyst Emmanuel Acho still has doubts about Hurts being in the MVP conversation as he believes that the QB “doesn’t look the part” of an MVP candidate.
Acho received massive backlash for his comments. Some fans called him a “clown” who “just acts for TV.” Hurts so far this season, has thrown for 2,697 yards and 18 touchdowns along with 10 interceptions. He has a rating of 94.9 and also has 11 rushing touchdowns. Here are some of the fan reactions on Twitter.
The Eagles have played some of the league’s best teams in recent weeks. Their next game is against the San Francisco 49ers, whom they beat in last season’s NFC Championship game. It will be a tasty encounter.
